Model and “Germany’s Next Top Model” participant Linus Weber visited his namesake at the Berlin Zoo for the first time. The young giraffe bull Linus, for whom the 27-year-old took over the name sponsorship, approached Weber with curiosity. At 1.92 meters, Weber is about the same size as the young Rothschild giraffe, which continues to grow every day. The bulls grow up to 5.8 meters tall.
The bull is still too small to be fed from the approximately 2.2 meter high giraffe walkway. In return, the giraffe cow Paula was happy to be fed by Weber. “I’m not an animal expert. But I always find it exciting to learn new things. If I can show children how fascinating animals and nature are, then I really enjoy doing that,” said Weber.
Second in “Germany’s Next Top Model”
Giraffe Linus was born in the zoo on April 28th – the tenth offspring of his mother Katharina. The herd of giraffes in the zoo now numbers twelve animals. Rothschild giraffes live south of the Sahara in Kenya and Uganda. There are only around 1,400 of them left in the wild.
Weber took part in the show “Germany’s Next Top Model” in 2024, i.e. in the first men’s season. He came second.
