Isabell Werth was once again unbeatable at the German championships in Balve. One day after her success in the Grand Prix Special, the eight-time Olympic champion also won the free skate. For the 56-year-old from Rheinberg it was national titles 19 and 20.
In the freestyle, she clearly prevailed on Viva Gold with 83.650 percentage points. Werth relegated Semmieke Rothenberger on Farrington (80.880) and Raphael Netz on Great Escape Camelot (79.030) to second and third place.
Werth with double success in the special
On Saturday, Werth even achieved a double success in the Grand Prix Special. She dominated on her successful horse Wendy with 81.510 percentage points. With Viva Gold (77.823) she also took second place in the test. But only the result with the best-placed horse counted for the championship ranking.
Team Olympic champion Frederic Wandres came third in the test on Bluetooth (77.686), but second in the championship. Behind her was Charlott-Maria Schürmann with Dante’s Pearl (76.431).
