In the popular tourist countries for Germans, Italy and Austria, prices are roughly at the same level as in Germany.
The northern and western neighbors are noticeably more expensive than Germany. The most expensive holiday for Germans is in Iceland and neighboring Switzerland, where German tourists pay 49 percent more for accommodation and services than at home.
