ANSA: Rome prosecutors have opened an investigation against Ben-Gvir in the “Sumuda flotilla” case

The Rome prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation against Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in connection with the detention of members of the Sumud flotilla. The Italian agency ANSA reports this.

According to the agency, among the investigation materials there is a video recording in which Ben-Gvir is captured in the port of Ashdod with the detained members of the flotilla. The footage shows activists kneeling with their hands tied, and the minister walking between them with an Israeli flag and shouting: “Welcome to Israel, we are the bosses here! The holidays are over!”

According to ANSA, an investigation into the circumstances of the interception of the flotilla by Israeli authorities has been ongoing in Rome for several weeks. Among the participants in the “breaking of the naval blockade of Gaza” were Italian citizens. As part of the investigation, according to the agency, among other things, suspicions are being checked that the detainees were subjected to torture.
