France, two children aged 2 and 4 “died in the car due to the heat” in Carpentras

In France, where there is an extreme heat wave, two children aged 2 and 4 were found dead in the car, ”in cardiac arrest”, by firefighters. The family car they were in was in a residential parking lot in Carpentras (Vaucluse)as reported by the prosecutor’s office.

“The causes of death have not yet been ascertained, but the prevailing hypothesis is the heat wave,” said Helene Mourges, prosecutor of the city of Carpentras, where temperatures reached 39 degrees centigrade. The children’s mother was taken into custody by emergency services and has not yet been questioned, the magistrate said.
