A regular session of the Committee on Prisoners, Hostages and Missing Persons was held

Simonyan presented the process of implementation of the main problems recorded during the previous session and the instructions carried out in the direction of their solution.

RA NSS informs that during the session they referred to the legal regulations of the RA Law “On Persons Missing in Conditions and Circumstances Created as a Result of Military Operations”, which came into force on May 1, emphasizing their importance from the point of view of systemic regulation of missing persons issues, as well as organizational measures aimed at the enforcement of the law.

As a result of the discussions, appropriate instructions were given, the main directions of the organization of further work were defined.

Even after the 44-day war, the fate of 191 people is considered unknown, about 900 people are considered missing after the first Karabakh war.

22 people are considered missing from the explosion of September 25, 2023.

Currently, 19 Armenian prisoners are being held in Azerbaijani prisons, they were sentenced to 15 to life imprisonment.
