“There was no planned meeting, there will be contacts in the near future.” Pashinyan about the meeting with Putin

There was no scheduled meeting, there will be contacts in the near future, Nikol Pashinyan stated in a press conference, referring to the observation that he said in April that he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the second half of June.

When asked whether a meeting is planned within the framework of the EAEU session to be held in August, Pashinyan answered. “There is a meeting of the intergovernmental council and the prime ministers are participating, the presidents are not.”

Pashinyan in April From negotiations with Putin a week later, he announced a new meeting with the Russian leader, which, according to him, was planned for the second half of June, that is, exactly one week after the National Assembly elections.

To another question from journalists, whether he is going to “discuss the issue of sanctions” with the Russian Prime Minister, Pashinyan responded. “The word sanction is not correct, there is no sanction and there cannot be, there is another topic, we will discuss it naturally.”

The prime minister said to “Azatut” what damages the economy suffered as a result of the restrictions. “The indicator of economic activity was 11 percent in May, and it was more than 8 percent in January-May. In general, there are always some effects on the economy, one branch becomes active, another branch decreases and so on… At the moment, the fact is that we have an economic activity index of 11 percent.”

Before the Armenian parliamentary elections, Russia restricted the entry of a number of Armenian products into its market citing quality inconsistency.

Following the Russian restrictions, the government is offering four support programs to exporters. Those companies that export or re-export goods to European Union countries, Great Britain, Northern Ireland or Canada will receive a subsidy.

Under the other program, until July 1, exporters of fruits and vegetables, mineral water, bottled brandy and wine will receive support. The next two programs are intended for greenhouse farms. One of them refers to the export of fruits, vegetables and flowers produced in greenhouses. It is also planned to extend the repayment terms of greenhouse farms loans by up to six months. Small greenhouse owners can also benefit from this latest program.
