Lebanese-Israeli talks to resume on June 30

The Saudi publication Al-Hadat writes, citing a representative of the American administration, that Lebanese-Israeli negotiations in Washington will resume on June 30. Their goal is to sign an agreement between countries.

The European Union expressed support for the framework agreement signed by Israel and Lebanon: “This is an extremely positive and necessary step towards de-escalating the conflict and achieving peace between the two states. However, it must not be allowed to remain on paper.”

EU foreign policy spokesman Anwar al-Announi announced the allocation of $100 million to the Lebanese army as part of support for the Lebanese government’s efforts to strengthen sovereignty and state institutions.

Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji said the priority remains to ensure the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from Lebanese territory, the occupation of the southern regions by the Lebanese army and the implementation of the state’s arms monopoly plan.
