Iranian Foreign Ministry against Trump: meeting with Americans in Doha is not planned

Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied US President Donald Trump’s statement that the Iranian side had asked the Americans for an emergency meeting in Doha. According to Trump, negotiations should take place on June 30.

Department spokesman Esmail Baghai confirmed that the Iranian delegation will arrive in the capital of Qatar in the coming days, but said that no meetings with American representatives are planned. According to him, we will talk about unfreezing Iranian funds.

Earlier, the White House announced that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would fly to Doha on Monday, June 29, to meet with Iranian officials the next day.

Reuters quoted a senior Iranian source as saying that the meeting in Doha is scheduled for Tuesday, and its main topic will be resolving the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and de-escalation.
