Migrants: Germany first in the EU for repatriations in the first quarter of 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, Germany leads the EU in terms of the number of repatriations of non-EU migrants (7,300), followed by France, according to Eurostat data.

Germany has repatriated in the first quarter of 2026 the largest number of citizens of non-EU countries among the Member States of the Union, approximately 7,300 people. This is what emerges from the data published today by Eurostat.

The second country in terms of number of repatriated migrants is France, with 3,775, followed by Poland (2,660), Sweden (2,485), Cyprus (1,960), Italy (1,900), Croatia (1,800), Austria (1,720) and gradually the other EU countries, up to Luxembourg and Slovakia, which repatriated 105 each.

The numbers of non-EU citizens who have been ordered to leave the national territory are higher: the first is France, with 34,880 cases, followed by Germany with 10,360; Italy has issued 4,900 expulsion orders and is in sixth position.
