At least one dead in a series of attacks on the Iranian coast near the Strait of Hormuz

At least one person has been killed in a series of attacks that occurred this Sunday in the vicinity of the city of Bandar Abbas, the most important Iranian port in the Strait of Hormuz region, and the nearby island of Qeshm.

A maintenance worker has died and two more have been injured while carrying out work in the town of Farvar, in that same region, according to official sources cited by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.

On Sunday afternoon, several consecutive explosions were heard in the city of Bandar Abbas, all of them in military zones, according to official sources.

There have also been attacks “from the enemy” in Hayi Abad, Bandar Lengué and the aforementioned Farvar and Qeshm. The regional government of Queshm has reported the impact of between 10 and 11 projectiles on the island.

Iran announced last night the closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for new attacks by the United States, launched in turn after attacks against merchant ships in Hormuz.
