Budanov about Zelensky’s meetings with military leaders: “The position of society has been heard”

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, commented on the meetings of President Vladimir Zelensky with representatives of the military command. According to media publications, the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, is being discussed.

“The situation around the latest internal changes has aroused strong emotions. I understand people who express their position. Indifference is the force that has held our state together all these years. The position of society has been heard. Work is underway. There will be results,” Ukrainska Pravda quotes him.

“Discussion is a normal phenomenon for a free country. I urge you not to hate anyone. The enemy is closely watching our every internal dispute and waiting for us to start fighting among ourselves. I’ll tell the enemies straight: you won’t wait,” Budanov added.

According to media publications, Syrsky’s likely successors are the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatoy, the commander of the Third Army Corps Andrei Biletsky, the commander of the Airborne Assault Forces Oleg Apostol and the commander of the National Guard Corps “Charter” Igor Obolensky.

Let us remind you: a few days ago Zelensky announced the resignation of Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov. He cited the protracted conflict with Syrsky as the reason for this decision. The decision by the head of state led to demonstrations in support of the minister, which became the most serious expression of public discontent since the outbreak of a full-scale war.
