“Today around 10:15 a.m. there were numerous calls to the Stuttgart police command and situation center. The background was an attack on a 47-year-old woman in a shopping center in Stuttgart-Nord,” police spokesman Timo Brenner told BILD. The victim is “currently undergoing emergency surgery.”
The perpetrator escaped from the shopping center
The suspected perpetrator (54) was initially on the run but has since been arrested. “At around 12:10 p.m., our emergency services arrested a 54-year-old German in the Bockelstrasse area. The man is or was in a relationship with the injured party,” says police spokesman Brenner. He is said to have first attacked the woman with a knife and then set her on fire.
