Katy Perry has harshly attacked the White House after his single ‘Firework’ was used as the soundtrack to a video shared on TikTok depicting military attacks.
“I am deeply shocked and angry seeing ‘Firework’ used on the TikTok profile ‘WhiteHouse’ as a soundtrack for images of military attacks”, began the American singer on her X profile.
Perry distanced himself from the video, explaining that he had never authorized the use of the song: “I wasn’t asked and I absolutely don’t approve of it.”
I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.

The singer then recalled the meaning of the 2010 hit and the reason that inspired it: “An anthem of hope, healing and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-esteem and encouragement transformed into a soundtrack of destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song represents. My music is about uniting people, not celebrating war“he added.
