Houthis confirm new drone attacks on Saudi oil supply and transportation network

The military spokesman for the Houthis, Yahya Sari, confirmed this Monday new attacks by Yemeni rebel forces on positions and “sensitive points” of Saudi Arabia’s oil supply and transportation, in response to the presence of Saudi drones in Yemen’s airspace.

“We have successfully attacked several targets and sensitive points of oil supply and transportation from eastern Saudi Arabia to Yanbu,” the spokesperson declared, referring to this city located on the shores of the Red Sea.

“They were attacked by several drones in response to the violation of Yemeni airspace by enemy Saudi drones,” he said in a brief message posted on his social networks.

Last weekend, the international coalition led by Saudi Arabia reported an operation against Houthi military targets in the Yemeni governorate of Hodeia, in response to the recent attack attributed to the rebel group against merchant ships sailing through the Red Sea.

The insurgents, for their part, have promised to take action against Saudi Arabia as tensions rise following the resumption of US attacks on Iran, which have led to bombings by Iranian forces against US positions and interests in the region.
