Iran made threats against Bulgaria

Iran warned Bulgaria about the danger of stationing American refueling aircraft on its territory. Deputy Foreign Minister Esmail Baghai stressed that this would make Bulgaria an accomplice in US-Israeli strikes on Iran.

“Those who make decisions in Bulgaria will be held accountable for this unjustified and dangerous decision that will turn their country into an accomplice,” the official said, adding that Sofia Airport has been used in the past to support American strikes on Iran.

Baghai also said that official Tehran did not approach the United States with a proposal to resume negotiations on ending the war. He called negotiations with Oman on managing the Strait of Hormuz positive, but stressed that the shipping artery remains closed.
