“Rosselkhoznadzor” suspended the import of Armenian roses through the territory of Belarus

According to the official report, the car transporting the package was detained at the customs point of Smolensk, the driver was a citizen of Belarus.

“In the accompanying documents, the cargo was declared by the carrier as a soft drink. The remaining fragments of the identification tags show their Armenian origin,” the Russian side said in a statement.

Russia has banned the import of flowers from Armenia, as well as their transit through Russia to EAEU member states, since May 22 of this year.

In the following weeks, Moscow also blocked the import of Armenian fruits and vegetables, beverages, fish products and dairy products.

In today’s telephone conversation, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged ideas on the agenda of Armenia-Russia relations, in particular, the problems arising in bilateral economic relations.

Pashinyan emphasized that the restrictions on the export of goods of Armenian origin to the Russian market contradict the framework of the Armenia-Russia legal agreement and the regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, and asked to take measures to resolve these issues.
