The mayor of Vis was attacked in the city center because of the cafe terrace

The conflict between the city authorities and the owner of the restaurant, as they say, has been going on since Mratinić assumed the duty. The city has on several occasions banned concerts organized by the cafeć Biliba, after which the discussion about the justification of such decisions moved to social networks.

One of the questions raised was whether the City could ban events if they were properly reported. Tensions culminated on Wednesday morning during an attempt to remove part of the restaurant’s terrace.

– The problem with fences and areas occupied by cafes, restaurants and other catering facilities is present throughout Vis. Although they may have had a ten or twenty percent surplus, it is not logical that the mayor comes to solve it personally – one Vis resident told Slobodna Dalmacija.

Another added that the citizens want to restore order, but “not exactly in this way”. The police are determining all the circumstances of the incident, and more information should be known after the completion of the criminal investigation.
