Russian forces late yesterday evening conducted an attack on fuel tanks in the Ukrainian port ofOdessaand hit a ship with military cargo south of the city.
The attack on Odessa
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced this in a statement. “The attacks on the port of Odessa hit fuel tanks intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces“, we read. A cargo ship carrying military cargo to a Ukrainian port was hit while sailing at sea south of Odessa, he added.
Drones shot down
In this climate of tension, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that Russian air defense shot down 371 Ukrainian drones during the night. The drones were shot down over Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kursk, Rostov and Tula regions, the Krasnodar Territory, Dagestan, Crimea, Tatarstan, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian response
Ukrainian forces heavily bombarded Volgograd,in southwestern Russia. According to the General Staff, Ukrinform reports, the Lukoil oil refinery, an aeronautical plant, a port and the Pole-21 electronic warfare complex were hit.
The Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery is one of the largest in the country, with 15 million tons of crude oil processed every year. Ukraine then conducted raids on an ammunition depot in the Naumovka area (in Crimea), a Russian checkpoint in the Bakhmut area of the Donetsk region were hit. The SSU, together with the Defense Forces, and an aircraft factory in Yevpatoria.
Logistics centers
Ukrainian forces hit three Russian logistics centers in the latest wave of attacks that came 1,500 kilometers from the border. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this in a post on X. “We continue to conduct our deep and medium-range attacks against Russian infrastructure that supports Russia’s aggression,” he explained.
“In particular, operations were conducted today against three logistics centers in different regions of the Russian Federation: in Sarapul, Kazan and Volgograd, at distances ranging from approximately 500 to almost 1,300 kilometers,” he explained. “In the Krasnodar region, a maritime terminal was hit. The distance of the target from the front line was about 270 kilometers. Almost 480 kilometers from the contact line, an oil refinery in the Volgograd region was hit,” he listed, and “hits in the waters of the Sea of Azov” were also scored.
