The unusual video of Pedro Sánchez in the midst of the migration crisis in Ceuta

The content, which most likely had already been recorded and its publication scheduled, ignited criticism on that and other networks.

“How little shame. While Ceuta is experiencing a critical situation and our relatives are enduring unbearable pressure, you publish this as if nothing were happening,” a user questioned. In a few hours, the post had more than 8 thousand comments, most of them critical of the time in which it was published.

“This summer I have prepared a playlist for you with some of the songs that I am listening to the most this year. It is quite eclectic so I highlight three that will surely give you an idea of ​​where I am going,” Sánchez said in the video before mentioning “El baifo”, by Quevedo; “SS26” by Charli XCX; and “So Many Things”, by Melani.

“I love this episode of Black Mirror!!”, questioned another of the followers. Others even asked him to resign in the comments.

Sánchez was in Ceuta this Friday hours after the massive entry of Moroccans that caused commotion in that city located in North Africa.

Sanchez’s video was published while the Spanish Government assures that the situation has normalized in Ceuta, although there are still hundreds of Moroccans near the beach of Ceuta, tired, hungry and guarded by soldiers who militarized the city.

The President of the Spanish Government sent a letter this Saturday to the leaders of the European institutions in which he questioned the “selfish” attitude of some EU countries in the face of the migratory crisis in Ceuta and demanded a meeting by videoconference of the Ministers of the Interior of the member countries.

“Such an attitude – motivated byprejudices, false information, ignorance or political interests– is not only contrary to European law, humanitarian law and the principles of solidarity that unite us, but also goes against the long-term interests of Europe,” Sánchez wrote.

Finally the meeting of the Ministers of the Interior will be held on Tuesdayby videoconference.

Meanwhile, the Italian Government ofGiorgia Meloni, the most critical of Sánchez’s management to defend the border, began this Saturday to apply random controls on travelers from Spain in airports and seaports, after announcing the temporary suspension of the Schengen agreement.

At the Roman airport of Fiumicino, with an average of 55 daily flights from Spain in the summer season, the EFE agency confirmed the entry into force of these controls coinciding with the arrival of commercial planes from cities such as Madrid, Barcelona or Malaga.

Agents from the Italian State Police asked passengers coming from Spain, both community and non-community, for their identity documents or passports upon departure from the planes to verify nationality: a Spanish traveler confirmed that in his case they asked him twice for the document at the “finger” that connects the ship with the terminal.
