Overchuk: “Armenia did not contact us regarding railway management”

“Russia has not received any application from Armenia regarding the termination of concession management of the South Caucasian railway, but we are constantly hearing public statements about it,” Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk said today in response to Interfax’s question.

According to the Russian official, “Moscow is ready to continue the work, managing the concession management.”

At the same time, Overchuk stated that he wants the problem to be solved “in a calm atmosphere, in the mode of consultations”.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently announced that there is no alternative to taking back the management of the Armenian railway from the Russian side.

“Russian Railways” also countered: if the Armenian side intends to change or stop the management conditions, it should return the investments.
