The fire that broke out this afternoon at the Kronospan factory in Bjelovar was brought under control, and no one was injured.

The report about the fire was received at 1:21 p.m., after which members of the Bjelovar Public Fire Department were dispatched to the field. They first went to the scene with three vehicles and six firefighters, and soon 15 firefighters with six vehicles arrived on the scene.

The fire broke out on the cooling tower inside the plant. During the intervention, there was also an explosion.

“We are talking about a side effect of the fire that occurred due to the mixing of flammable mixtures, but no one was injured,” said the commander of the Bjelovar Public Fire Department, Davor Đalog.

He added that it is still difficult to determine the cause of the fire and that it will be determined later by other competent authorities.
