NATO forces conducted large-scale military exercises in Romania

NATO forces have conducted large-scale military exercises in Romania, testing their capabilities to repel a possible attack on the country, a member of the eastern wing of the alliance.

More than a thousand soldiers from different European countries, led by France, took part in the “Eagle Spearhead” exercise held in the Chinku settlement of Transylvania.

During the exercise, the ability to resist and repel a large-scale attack on Romania, bordering Ukraine, was tested.

The exercises are being held at a time when a number of countries in NATO’s eastern wing are warning that Russia may launch a limited attack against the alliance. The Kremlin, however, calls those warnings about a possible Russian attack “horror stories”.
