Namely, someone, whom the locals claim is a foreign tourist who has been vacationing there for years, covered a large part of the waterfront with green artificial grass, the kind that is also put on football fields. He also set up umbrellas and an improvised bar. All this is located on the maritime property.
– We call that part the Republic of Hungary. The artificial grass was there before 2019. There is also a photo on Google Maps that is seven years old. First he placed a few squares, but he had a problem with the storm, which lifted it all into the sea from time to time and caused damage. Then came more serious interventions on that so-called installation, because the carpet made of artificial green grass was attached to the concrete surface – a resident of Bettina, who lives near the beach covered with artificial grass, described to us.
As we find out, there are always those who use this plastic oasis – either sunbathe, or board the ship, or get off the ship.
– That’s why they put artificial grass, to make it more comfortable. Maybe it feels better when you walk, but it’s just horrible to see. According to my estimate, that installation has been there for ten years and, as far as I know, none of us who live here all the time has reported it. Č it seems like a wasted job to us because that move has been spatially destroyed forever – another neighbor told us.
They say that no one has ever had a problem with foreign owners, except that they stay away, avoid local people and do their own thing.
About the case, we contacted the head of Tisno Municipality, Kristijan Jareb, who contacted us after the inquiry and pointed out that the competent authorities will check the situation on the ground.
– I am the head of the municipality, such applications go to the communal wardens. I didn’t see that, we have a big coast, there are a lot of problems. There are a lot of applications – Jareb told us.
The law is clear, concreting and intervention by the sea is devastation of the coast. High fines are prescribed, and it is possible to receive a prison sentence. In the meantime, the photo that was published on social networks received many comments. Commentators are outraged that everything can be done on the coastal strip.
