Iran’s armed forces have considered a number of Persian broadcasters operating abroad as possible targets of attack.

“Radio Farda” is a project of the US international broadcaster “Azatutyun” radio station.

Radio stations operating abroad are considered important sources of information for the Iranian population, as state-controlled media are subject to censorship even in peacetime.

The broadcasting center of “Radio Farda” has been under heightened security conditions for a long time, as it is considered a possible target of a terrorist attack.
