Attack on George Bush foiled thanks to Belgian intelligence services

The FBI succeeded in thwarting an attack on former President Georges W. Bush thanks to Belgian State Security. This is reported by the VRT on Saturday morning. Our country gave the Americans a golden tip, as a result of which a cell of four terrorists was arrested.

Shihab Ahmed, an asylum seeker from Iraq, allegedly wanted Bush killed during a speech in Dallas. He made several reconnaissance trips around the ex-president’s residence in Dallas and Crawford and he is also said to have made videos of security around Bush’s home. To do that, he teamed up with some accomplices. One, however, was an agent of the American security services.

And those security services got the golden tip from our country. Because Belgian state security has been following returned IS fighters for years. One of those who was followed suddenly had a lot of contact with Shihab. According to the VRT, communication about people smuggling was intercepted. Our services decided to notify the American. Only when our country informed the US did Shihab come into the mind of the FBI.
