With the Green Claims directive, new and stricter rules for organic and eco-sustainable food are arriving from the EU. Companies will have to offer recognized scientific evidence to guarantee the veracity of the ‘eco’, ‘bio’ or ‘reduced carbon footprint’ labels. According to the EU, in fact, 53.3% of the ‘green’ declarations on the products of companies examined were found to be vague, misleading or unfounded.
