В США умер сценарист Эдуард Акопов, автор комедии “Человек с бульвара Капуцинов”

Russian media report that screenwriter, playwright and writer Eduard Akopov died in Los Angeles at the age of 76, according to the scripts of which about 30 films were shot.

The Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation told Interfax that Akopov died on January 31, “the cause of death was a heart attack as a complication after the coronavirus.”

Eduard Akopov was born on June 24, 1945 in Baku, into an Armenian family. After graduating from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry in 1967, he worked for several years at factories and research institutes as an engineer in electronics and computers. As a student, he began writing stories and publishing in local magazines. In 1972 he graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors, studied at the workshop of film writer Budimir Metalnikov. He was the screenwriter of such films as “The Soldier and the Elephant” (1977), “Apartment for Rent with a Child” (1978), “Mulberry” (1979), “Be My Husband” (1981), “Sunday Dad” (1985), “The Man from the Boulevard des Capucines” (1987) and many others. He was the first president of the Guild of Scriptwriters of the USSR, then headed the Guild of Scriptwriters of Russia.
