The two major parties in the US strongly condemned the administration’s decision to avoid vetoing the anti-Israel resolution passed by the Security Council: “devastating consequences for American national security and Israel-US relations”

Members of Congress and senators from the two major parties in the US yesterday (Monday) condemned the decision of the Biden administration to avoid the UN Security Council vote on the decision to call for an immediate ceasefire in the war in Gaza and the release of the hostages held by Hamas.

“It is shocking that the US allowed the passing of a resolution that does not condemn Hamas,” wrote Democratic Senator John Peterman. Hamas supporters.”

“Today’s decision is a surrender to Hamas and a victory for it,” added Republican Senator Ted Cruz. “It changes the declared policy of the Biden administration that ties a ceasefire to the release of the abductees, even while Hamas continues to hold the abductees – including American abductees. The resolution does not recognize the crimes of October 7, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and certainly does not condemn them. It includes vague and forced language which calls for the release of the abductees, whose goal is for Hamas to ignore it, as it did,” said the senator from Texas. “Indeed, the decision passed today will only strengthen Hamas even more.

“This statement will have devastating consequences for American national security and Israel-US relations,” Cruz added. “I call on senior administration officials, including and especially State Department officials, to change this irresponsible and catastrophic policy I will continue to hold them accountable until they do so.”

“US President Joe Biden’s lack of leadership and inaction at the United Nations is a disgrace,” wrote Republican Senator Tim Scott. “Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with our great ally, the Biden administration undermined Israel’s position and empowered Hamas terrorists again and again.”

“Joe Biden continues to appease the pro-Hamas wing of his party by challenging Israel on the battlefield and at the United Nations,” added Republican Senator Tom Cotton. “This war will end when the hostages return home and Hamas is wiped off the face of the earth.”

“The UN Security Council has just passed a resolution that requires Israel not to defeat Hamas,” wrote Republican Senator Marco Rubio. “To appease the anti-Semitic far-left activists and Hamas supporters, Biden decided not to veto.”

“The abstention is yet another example of the Biden administration’s hostility toward our great ally, Israel,” wrote Republican Congressman Chip Roy. “This decision reinforces the moral decay in the UN and the claim that it does not deserve a dime of the taxpayers’ money.”

“The Biden administration continues to undermine our closest ally in the Middle East,” said Republican Senator Ted Budd. “Hamas must immediately release all hostages and surrender, or be destroyed. This should be the position of the US.”

“Joe Biden is more concerned with his political future than with our greatest ally, Israel, which is struggling for survival,” wrote Republican Congressman Kevin Hearn.

Without mentioning the vote specifically, Democratic Congressman Richie Torres wrote: “The only winner in a public confrontation between the US and Israel is Hamas.”
