The Baku court sentenced an Iranian citizen to 12 years in prison on charges of espionage

The Baku Court of Serious Crimes sentenced Iranian citizen Mohammad Gaedi to 12 years in prison on charges of espionage.

The Iranian was arrested in March last year.

The National Security Service of Azerbaijan claims that the Iranian “collected information containing state secrets on the instructions of the special services of a foreign state, to the detriment of the security of Azerbaijan, in particular, by obtaining personal data about Azerbaijani law enforcement officers, establishing personal contacts, involving them in cooperation.”
