Abdolahian and Fidan discussed regional developments over the phone

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolahian and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed issues related to relations between Tehran and Ankara by phone.

According to Mehr agency, high-ranking diplomats of Iran and Turkey also discussed regional developments and the situation in Gaza.

It is noted that the Israeli attacks on the building of the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1 were also on the agenda of the discussion.

Yesterday, the presidents of Turkey and Iran also had a telephone conversation and discussed bilateral relations, regional and global issues. Ebrahim Raisi thanked Erdogan for Turkey’s position in condemning the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria and emphasized that “this crime will not go unanswered.”

On April 1, airstrikes on the Iranian consulate in Damascus killed a number of senior Iranian military personnel, including the top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and his deputy, Mohammad Khadi Khaji Rahimi.

The authorities of Iran called the attack of the Israeli Air Force a “cowardly crime” and threatened not to leave it unanswered.
