German scientists have created the world’s first microrobot that can help fight cancer. They can move through the human cellular network and target individual cells.
Berna Edelmann, a leading researcher and professor of nano- and micro-robotics at the Technical University of Munich, said that the discovery could create new treatment methods for patients fighting cancer or other diseases.
A team of scientists has found ways to release millions of microrobots in minutes. Microrobots made from algae are about half the width of a human hair, about the same size as human cells, and have the same soft cell structure. Thanks to the use of nanomaterials, they can be controlled wirelessly.
