The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, announced this Wednesday that Israel has already made the decision to respond to Iran’s massive attack last week, a day after the British Government asked the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu , to “keep calm.”

“The right thing to do is to have made our views clear about what should happen next, but it is clear that the Israelis have made the decision to act,” Cameron said after meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem this Wednesday.

“We hope they do it in a way that contributes as little as possible to aggravating the situation,” said Cameron, who was accompanied by his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, in the meeting with the Israeli president.

Subsequent to this meeting, the Israeli Presidency’s office issued a statement in which it defended the need for “the entire world” to act “with determination and decision” in the face of the “threat” of the “Iranian regime.”

Before returning to the United Kingdom this Wednesday, Cameron is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Foreign Affairs counterpart, Israel Katz, as well as with the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Mohamed Mustafa.

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated in a statement released through his account on the social network week.

Netanyahu has transferred to his Cabinet all the “suggestions” and “advice” that he has received in recent hours from international representatives such as Cameron and Baerbock, or previously Prime Minister Sunak, to whom he has made it “clear” that it will be Israel who will take the lead. final decision.

“I appreciate it, but I want to make it clear that we ourselves will make the decisions and the State of Israel will do what it needs to defend itself,” he said, according to a statement from his office.
