The Palestinian president thanks Spain for its “firm and principled position” for the Palestinian cause

The president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas, has conveyed to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, his “appreciation and gratitude to Spain for its firm and principled positions” in favor of the Palestinian cause “throughout its legitimate struggle” .

In a letter to the Spanish president, the Palestinian president thanked “Spain’s support to achieve a just peace and stability in the region, especially in light of the continued aggression of the Israeli occupation” through his “repeated calls for a “immediate ceasefire.”

Likewise, Abbas thanked Spain for its efforts “to alleviate the catastrophic situation of the Palestinian people” through “unrestricted humanitarian aid.”

Abbas, who also thanks Spain for its “valuable and important efforts to recognize the independent State of Palestine and implement the two-state solution” of Israel and Palestine in coexistence, calls Spain a “friendly country” and conveys his full confidence in Sánchez to take “appropriate decisions to facilitate regional peace and stability.”

The Palestinian president has extended these wishes for “peace and prosperity” to “friend Spain”, King Felipe VI, the Government and the Spanish people, according to the letter collected by the official Palestinian news agency Wafa.
