Russian Ministry of Defense: Moscow cruiser badly damaged in ammunition explosion
The Russian cruiser Moscow was “severely damaged” in the ammunition explosion, Russian state agencies reported today, referring to the Ministry of Defense, while the Ukrainian side claims that the ship was hit by the cruise missiles Neptune.“Ammunition on the cruiser Moscow exploded due to the fire. The ship was severely damaged,” the ministry said, according to the Russian news agencies Tas and Ria Novosti.

The crew was evacuated and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Russian agencies did not state where this happened. Ukrainian authorities have previously said that the warship Moscow was “hit and set on fire”.
