War in Gaza: Orion Hernandez-Radoux, one of the last three French hostages, is dead

Orion Hernandez-Radoux, one of the last three French hostages in the hands of Hamas, was found dead in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli army, the IDF announced in a press release published this Friday morning. The information was confirmed by the Hostage Families Forum. The bodies of two other hostages were also found.

Contacted by Le Parisien, those close to Orion Hernandez-Radoux, 32, say they are “in shock”. In its press release, the IDF states that the bodies of the three hostages found in the Gaza Strip have been repatriated to Israel.

 

Emmanuel Macron reacted to the announcement of this death this Friday, saying he was thinking “of his family and his loved ones. We are at their side”, and indicating that “France remains more committed than ever to the release of all the hostages”.

Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also reacted when he spoke from Valence (Drôme): “We are all upset by this announcement of the death of our compatriot. » He addressed his thoughts to the loved ones of the deceased. “It is a tragedy which firstly reminds us of the scale of the massacre of the terrorist attack committed by Hamas,” he added.

 

The other two victims are Hanan Yablonka, a 42-year-old father kidnapped during the Nova festival, and Michel Nisenbaum, a 59-year-old Israeli-Brazilian citizen, who was kidnapped while trying to rescue his 4-year-old granddaughter. years near Kibbutz Re’Im.

Franco-Mexican, Orion Hernandez-Radoux was kidnapped on October 7 at the Tribe of Nova music festival. He went there with the German-Israeli Shani Louk, whose body was found on May 17 by the Israeli army in Gaza. His presence at the festival was not planned and was decided at the last minute, his mother Marie-Pascale told us a few weeks after the attack perpetrated by Hamas.

Father of a granddaughter barely two years old, he worked in music and events. On October 3, four days before his kidnapping in Nova, Orion was in Greece, working on his own music festival. That day, the young man was able to speak with his mother by telephone. She hasn’t heard from him since.

Orion Hernandez-Radoux was one of the last three French hostages still in captivity in the Gaza Strip. Two fathers remain in the hands of Hamas: Ohad Yahalomi, 49 years old, and Ofer Kalderon, 53 years old. Their children, Eitan Yahalomi, Erez Kalderon and Sahar Kalderon, were all released on November 27, during the first truce signed between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement.
