The malfunction that causes long delays in flights leaving and entering Europe

Flying soon? Due to a malfunction in the Eurocontrol system in Brussels, disruptions to the flight schedule in the European airspace are expected. As a result, there is a high probability of prolonged delays in outgoing and incoming flights, including those landing in Israel, in the coming hours, until the fault is resolved and the system returns to regular operation.

The airport authorities said: “We recommend that all passengers keep up to date with the airlines regarding the updated departure date and any possible changes to the flight schedule.”

Yesterday, a technical malfunction was discovered in the radar system used to manage aircraft traffic in the Athens area. Technical teams were immediately called to restore the system to operation, and at the same time safety measures were activated to continue air traffic management. It was later reported that the activity of the radar system was restored, after the responsible technical services dealt with the malfunction.
