A female tourist climbed out onto a cliff at Bich Dam island village in Nha Trang to take photos, despite warnings from local people.
On August 25, Bich Dam Border Guard Station, an island belonging to Hon Tre island cluster, Nha Trang ward, confirmed an incident of a female tourist climbing off a high cliff in the Hon Lon lighthouse area. Through the video, the girl climbed the cliff in strong wind conditions. A local man repeatedly warned of danger, asking the girl to return to a safe area. The time of the incident is being verified by the authorities.
A border guard representative said that this area has railings and signs warning people and tourists not to go beyond the safe range to take photos.
“Fortunately, no accident happened to this tourist,” said a representative of the border guard station.
According to this unit, before tourists come to the island, the border guards coordinate with people to propagate regulations and guide safe areas to visit.

Hon Lon Lighthouse was built in 1890, 100 m above sea level, is one of the famous sightseeing and sightseeing spots in the area, with a place to rest facing the sea to observe fishing boats on Nha Trang Bay.

In Meo Vac (Ha Giang), a British tourist was seriously injured while climbing the “death cliff” in March 2023 – before that, another person fell into a rock crevice at this same spot in 2021. In July this year, a male tourist also climbed out onto a cliff close to the sea at Mui Dien (Dak Lak) despite warnings. Particularly in Ly Son (Quang Ngai), the government had to issue warnings twice this year to prevent tourists from approaching the edge of the cliff on Thoi Loi mountain.
