Everyone is flying there: El Al will also start flying to the Muslim country

The Sun Door company, from the El Al group, announced this morning that during the coming winter it will operate direct flights to Marrakesh in Morocco. The flights will operate with a frequency of two weekly flights on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first flight will take off on November 16, 2026, subject to receiving all the required approvals.

According to the company’s announcement, the flights will be offered at a launch price of $599 round trip for a lite type ticket that includes a trolley and carry-on luggage.

“We are happy to expand and diversify the company’s destination map for the coming winter for the Israeli audience,” said Sun Dor CEO Gal Gershon. “Depending on demand, we will operate direct flights to Marrakesh, an exotic city full of markets, a fascinating culture and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. Marrakesh joins our winter destinations that offer a variety of options for a short vacation abroad, trips in spectacular landscapes, ski vacations, markets, shopping and culinary.

As you may remember, Arkia was the first company to renew the direct line to Marrakesh already at the end of August after a three-year hiatus. The direct flights to Morocco were stopped at the beginning of the Iron Swords War after the Israel Defense Forces raised the travel warning to the country to level 3, but in the last two years there were Israelis who continued to arrive in the country via connecting flights from Spain, Germany and other destinations throughout Europe, although there were quite a few anti-Israel protests at the destination.

We remind you that in order to enter Morocco, an entry visa is required and the passengers must make sure that they have all the necessary permits before booking the flight and leaving for the destination.
