The UAE launches the “CARDS” platform to analyze air freight data

The General Authority of Civil Aviation launched the Air Cargo Data Platform (CARDS), which provides many technical services to government agencies, national airlines, ground handling agents and courier service providers.

The Air Cargo Data Platform (CARDS) is the first platform of its kind that provides an analytical view of air freight movement to, from and through the United Arab Emirates, by analyzing the performance of national airlines, ground handling agents and courier service providers, in addition to sharing the results and market share with each. This helps stakeholders identify strengths and weaknesses and enhances their competitive situation.

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority, said: “The UAE enjoys a global competitive position as one of the most developed countries in the efficiency of air cargo operations, with its strong infrastructure of airports, shipping companies and global logistical services. In addition to its continued investment in developing its capabilities and capabilities in this key and important sector, the CARDS air cargo data platform represents a new step towards the country’s global leadership in this vital sector, as it provides a stock of data to monitor challenges and reveal obstacles that may face air freight movement to, from and through. The state, which serves the development and economic orientations of the state, in line with the objectives of the vision (We are the Emirates 2031), for the state to become a global center for the new economy, and the shift towards future sectors such as aviation and logistics services.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said: “We are proud today to launch the Air Cargo Data Platform (CARDS), which is characterized by accuracy, privacy and ease of use, and which will allow the relevant government agencies to view the movement of freight in the country, which enhances the agencies’ capabilities. concerned with identifying aspects of the development of air cargo traffic.

Al Suwaidi stressed that the platform will undergo a process of continuous development and updating to ensure the expansion of the scope of information included in it, to include the inclusion of the main cities from which goods are exported and imported to and from, and the most prominent types of goods shipped by air to provide an integrated picture of air freight movement and trade exchange in the country.

Al Suwaidi added, “I take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation to all government agencies, national airlines, ground handling agents and courier service providers for their pivotal role in the success of this project, which serves the national trends to continue developing and developing the capabilities and capabilities of the civil aviation sector in the country.”
