Nadal: “Although I have a good relationship with Enrique Riquelme, I have great respect for Florentino”

The former Mallorcan tennis player Rafa Nadal has once again distanced himself from the information that linked his name to possible candidates for the presidency of Real Madrid.

“Although I have a good relationship with Enrique Riquelme, I have great respect for Florentino, for everything he is and what he has been for Real Madrid,” he said at a press conference in Manacor, after inaugurating his new museum.

When asked by the media, he assured that he understands that speculation can be made but that he wanted to make it “clear” that he is not “at that moment or in that situation.” “What may happen in the future I don’t know, right now I’m doing my things,” added the ManacorĂ.

As he added, he understands that elections are called so that the partners can decide. Furthermore, he has stated that he does not know if Riquelme will appear.

In this sense, he has avoided assessing what the latter could contribute to Real Madrid, stressing that it would be a new bet. “As in all new bets, things have to be demonstrated,” he maintained.
