Tehran will speed up review of death sentences

The head of the Iranian judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, called on the country’s Supreme Court to expedite requests for review of cases under Article 477 as quickly as possible.

This step will significantly reduce pauses in the execution of court decisions, which will affect death penalties.

Mohseni-Ejei also stressed that Tehran will not deviate from its principles in negotiations with the United States and will continue to support the forces of the “axis of resistance.”

Against this background, US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with the Emir of Qatar, announced large-scale data on internal repression in Iran, saying that at least 42,000 demonstrators were killed during protests in the country.

At the same time, the American leader emphasized that Washington is still conducting a dialogue with Iranian officials, whom he called “rational people,” and added that he is not a supporter of the idea of ​​forced regime change in Tehran.
