MSI opens Italian pre-orders for the Claw 8 Ex Ai+ portable console

MSI has formalized the opening of pre-orders on the Italian market for the Claw 8 EX AI+ model, a device that was previewed during Computex 2026. The new MSI portable console will enter the official distribution phase starting from July in initially limited volumes, which will be followed by subsequent inventory replenishments, with a recommended retail price of 1599 euros.

The launch strategy requires that requests registered through the manufacturer’s official digital store or through authorized commercial partners include a dedicated protective travel case. Furthermore, company procedures indicate that the activation of a review on the product by September 30th, linked to the campaign called “Review & Receive”, will allow the extension of the warranty coverage for a period of a further six months, according to the indications provided by the manufacturer.

The technical evolution of this category of terminals focuses on the integration of components capable of balancing graphic calculation capacity and energy consumption on the move. The Claw 8 EX AI+ model is the first handheld system globally to adopt the Intel Arc G3 Extreme CPU, a specific platform that implements efficiency in visual data processing without excessively burdening battery life.

From a structural and visual interface point of view, Claw 8 Ex Ai+ uses an 8-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology, a technical solution aimed at eliminating tearing phenomena and stabilizing the fluidity of the images. The chassis, characterized by the Void Purple color, presents changes to the overall ergonomics compared to the previous series, obtained through the redefinition of the external grips and the adoption of wear-resistant mechanical components, such as the triggers and joysticks that use Hall effect sensors, flanked by a directional pad with increased reactivity.

Optimizing the user experience also depends significantly on the software sector and interface management drivers. The system natively supports XeSS 3 super-sampling and image processing technologies along with Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) protocols, which work to increase the frame rate per second through algorithmic interpolation.

The operational management of software titles is instead delegated to an interface borrowed from Xbox mode, developed to shorten initial loading times and allow immediate resumption of interrupted gaming sessions, bringing the portable Copilot+ PC ecosystem into line with the reactivity standards typical of home consoles.
