Ghalibaf announced an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran and Oman have reached an agreement on regulating navigation in the Strait of Hormuz based on a “memorandum of understanding” between Iran and the United States.

As The Jerusalem Post reported on Friday, July 3, during a meeting with the Chinese delegation, Ghalibaf said that “Israel is undoubtedly trying to disrupt the implementation of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, but the deterrent potential of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region will not allow it to start a war again.”

He also stressed that the United States will not be allowed to interfere with the management of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

“The Americans are pursuing a unilateral policy throughout the world. Close coordination between Iran and China in the political and economic spheres is extremely important to reduce tensions and prevent their further spread,” Ghalibaf said.

Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China He Wei, in turn, said that Beijing intends to strengthen relations with Tehran.

“The friendship between China and Iran has a long history, and we intend to further develop relations between our countries,” he said.

It should be noted that He Wei was sent to China, among other things, for the PRC’s official participation in the funeral of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was liquidated by Israel in February of this year.
