Millions for digitalization: New funding phase for SMEs starts

“Digitalization is no longer an option, but a prerequisite for surviving the competition. That’s exactly why we’re starting with KMU.DIGITAL where it counts for companies – in the concrete implementation of their projects,” says the Minister of Economics Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer. The need is great, as previous demand has proven.

The range of supported implementation projects is wide and ranges from the professionalization of online shops to the implementation of software solutions in a wide variety of company areas to the introduction of customer loyalty apps.

Since the realignment of the KMU.DIGITAL program in May 2024, a total of around 26,500 applications have been submitted. Of these, around 18,200 applications have already been paid out with a funding volume of around 18.1 million euros.
In terms of advisory funding, 16,400 applications were approved and funded with a total of 10.5 million euros. In terms of implementation funding, around 1,800 projects were supported with a funding volume of around 7.6 million euros

“Especially for small and medium-sized companies, it is crucial that digitalization does not fail in theory, but rather comes into practice. Companies are therefore cordially invited to actively use the start of implementation funding and to submit their digitalization projects,” says WKÖ President Martha Schultz.
