Erwin Tinhof new Raiffeisen Attorney General

The general meeting of the Austrian Raiffeisen Association (ÖRV) elected Erwin Tinhof as the new attorney general on Thursday. The long-standing chairman of the supervisory board of Raiffeisenlandesbank Burgenland succeeds Erwin Hameseder, who is leaving this position at his own request after four years.

In addition to Erwin Tinhof, the new executive board of the ÖRV consists of his three deputies: Volkmar Angermeier, chairman of the supervisory board of the Raiffeisenlandesbank Upper Austria, Michael Göschelbauer, chairman of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen Ware Austria, and Franz Titschenbacher, chairman of the Raiffeisen Association of Styria.

In his inaugural speech, the new Attorney General underlined the importance of active cooperation in the sector: “The WIR force will be at the forefront at Raiffeisen. The Austrian Raiffeisen Association is the federal organization, the umbrella of the Raiffeisen family. It will continue to be the driving force for the sector. I would like to continue this role of the ÖRV together with my three deputies. I look forward to our cooperation.”

Tinhof named the areas of digitalization, raising awareness of Raiffeisen’s regional strengths and recruiting new cooperative members as the focus for the coming term of office.

Hameseder, who will remain chairman of the Raiffeisen Holding and chairman of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), looks back on four intensive and successful years as attorney general: “The Austrian Raiffeisen Association has developed very dynamically over the past four years and has taken the right innovation steps. We are therefore well positioned for the future.”

In his speech, he particularly thanked ÖRV General Secretary Johannes Rehulka for his “excellent leadership” of the association and all employees for “their highly professional work. I am handing over a well-ordered house to my successor, to whom I wish all the best in overcoming future challenges.”
