Bitter bankruptcy of a well-known club

“The management cites a flood event in September 2024 as the main cause of the failure, which caused significant damage. The insurance benefits were only low – details on the amount of damage and the scope of insurance were not disclosed,” said the AKV. “According to the insolvency debtor, official requirements made matters worse: a severely limited number of permitted visitors and noise restrictions would have had a massive impact on economic operations. Changing consumer behavior among guests with declining sales is also cited as a key factor.”

About the MSC Event GmbH, The operator of the Till Club in Markersdorf, bankruptcy proceedings were opened on Monday at the St. Pölten regional court. “The company was only founded in 2024 and took over an existing club operation in August of the same year. The discotheque was supposed to be repositioned with an expanded range of events – from club nights to family and special events. But the plan didn’t work out,” it says.

The debts

The liabilities amount to around 419,000 euros, 25 creditors are affected. “The liabilities are offset by assets, including inventory, inventory and receivables. Their actual value is still being examined during the insolvency proceedings. Realization is planned,” says the AKV.

No future

All employment relationships have already been terminated by mutual agreement. Club operations have been discontinued and there are no plans to continue. Lawyer Josef Schwarz acts as insolvency administrator. The registration period for creditors runs until August 11th, the examination meeting is scheduled for August 25th.
