Nordea made a big change to dividends – Kasper Mellas reveals whether the investor will get more money

Financial Group Nordea reported early Thursday of its second quarter result.

The second dividend installment for 2026 will be paid next spring after the general meeting.

Inderes an analyst who follows banks Kasper Melas revealed in Talousaamu whether those who invest in Nordea will get a more generous dividend from Nordea with the new dividend policy.

“Not on an annual basis,” Mellas commented.

He emphasizes that the portion of the profit that is paid to shareholders as dividends will remain the same. The dividend is only paid in several installments now.

“Of course, the dividend stream now seems to be getting earlier, but the total amount, that is, what is determined as a dividend based on the earnings development and the balance sheet, is the same,” Mellas clarifies.

He emphasizes that, in the end, the bank’s profit development and the solvency of the balance sheet determine how much dividend can be distributed to shareholders. He urges investors to focus on these numbers.
