The Gallery of the Royal Collections has dismissed temporary exhibitions ‘Victoria Eugenia’ y ‘Real Toys’ who, in total, have received 156,238 and 61,385 visitors, respectively.
The exhibition on the figure of the Queen closed this Sunday, April 5 after four months open in the Gallery. It has brought the figure of the monarch closer to the public through more than 300 pieces from National Heritage funds and national and international lenders.
In fact, among the pieces on display, documents, photographs, correspondence or personal objects – such as the Fleurs de Lis diadem – could be seen, portraits and sculptures by artists such as Sorolla, Philip de Lázsló or Benlliure.
Likewise, part of the Queen’s personal library and the carriage in which she traveled to the Jerónimos on her wedding day had been exhibited.
Also this weekend the temporary exhibition closed its doors on the -3rd floor of the Gallery. ‘Royal Toys’, a monograph that has brought together objects related to leisure and learning from the childhood of the Spanish monarchy between the mid-19th century and the first third of the 20th.
These two exhibitions give way to the Gallery’s next major temporary exhibition, ‘Weaving courtly life’which can be visited between June and October, and in which fabrics, embroidery and lace that were part of the ceremonial and daily life of royalty will be exhibited.
