Author Eva Kilpi has died, says WSOY in its announcement. Kilpi died the night before Saturday at the age of 98 in Espoo’s Tapiola, where he lived since the late 1960s.
Kilpi was born in Hiitola in Laatoka Karelia on February 18, 1928.
Kilve was awarded the Pro Finlandia medal in 1974 and the State Literature Award four times, the first time already in the 1960s and the last time in 2019.
Eva Kilven the production covers a total of 12 novels, six collections of poems, three collections of essays, seven collections of short stories, essays, and collections of poems and short stories.
The main themes of the shield’s production, in addition to Evacko Karelianism, are human relationships and nature.
According to the WSOY press release, Kilpi has also given his voice to those who fled the war and depicted the war from a child’s point of view. He kept the position of refugees and the cause of peace in all the writing decades. As a conservationist, he defended forests and animal rights.
Eva Kilpi got in marriage Mikko Kilven (1928–1991) with three sons. He has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Eva Kilpi lived his last years in the Attendo home in Tapiola, son of the writer Jukka Kilpi told HS.
Jukka Kilpi is sincerely grateful that his mother received genuinely good, caring care.
“A lot of unpleasant things are heard from the nursing home front, but our experience was only positive until mother’s dignified, peaceful departure,” Kilpi said.
In May, Jukka Kilpi invited the staff of the nursing department who took care of his mother to the National Theater to watch the play These parties are still going onwhich tells Anna-Riikka Carlson’s and Eeva Kilve’s friendship.
